How to post to social media from Grok

Grok already knows what people are saying on X. Connect it to Hey Tasky and it can act on that: draft a reply-worthy post, schedule it for the right hour, and send the same idea to LinkedIn and Bluesky.

Setup

Connect Grok in 4 steps

You need a Hey Tasky workspace with at least one social account connected. Connect X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Mastodon, or another network in Hey Tasky first, so Grok has somewhere to post.

  1. Open Grok connectors

Go to grok.com/connectors and click "New Connector", then "Custom".

  2. Add the Hey Tasky server

    Paste the server URL below.

    https://mcp.heytasky.com/mcp
  3. Sign in to Hey Tasky

Complete the sign-in Grok asks for: a Hey Tasky window opens, you sign in, and you approve access.

  4. Check it works

Ask Grok which Hey Tasky accounts it can post to. It should list the accounts connected in your workspace.

Things to ask Grok

  • "Find what people on X are saying about AI agents today and draft a post for my X account in Hey Tasky."
  • "Rewrite that draft for LinkedIn and schedule both for tomorrow morning."
  • "Which of my posts from last week got the most impressions?"
Capabilities

What Grok can do in Hey Tasky

These are the tools Hey Tasky's MCP server gives Grok. Ask for a draft when you want to read a post before it goes out; a scheduled post publishes on its own at the time you set.

list_channels
Lists the accounts connected to your workspace, with the ids the agent needs to target them.
list_social_sets
Lists your social sets, such as one brand across X and Threads, so you can say "post this to my text list".
create_post
Saves a draft you review and schedule later in Hey Tasky. Nothing is published.
schedule_post
Schedules a post to one or more channels at an exact time. Hey Tasky publishes it automatically.
get_queue
Reads what is scheduled, published, or failed.
get_post_results
Returns impressions, likes, replies, reposts, and quotes for published posts, where the network reports them.
list_replies
Pulls replies to your posts, sorted into leads, questions, and praise.
get_best_times
Suggests weekday and hour slots from how your posts performed over the last 90 days.
get_account
Confirms which workspace and timezone the agent is working in.
Good to know

Before you rely on it

  • Ask for drafts until you trust the setup. A draft waits in Hey Tasky for you; a scheduled post publishes on its own at the time you set.
  • On Grok Business or Enterprise, an admin adds the connector in console.x.ai under Grok Business, Connectors.
  • xAI's connector docs don't spell out every sign-in type. Hey Tasky uses standard OAuth, which Grok handles in the browser.
FAQ

Grok and Hey Tasky questions

Can Grok post to LinkedIn and Bluesky, not just X?

Yes. Grok posts through Hey Tasky, so it can use any account you have connected there, not only X.

Do I need a paid Grok plan?

xAI's docs say connectors are available to all Grok users. Business and Enterprise teams add them through an admin.

Does Grok get my X password?

No. Your X account connects to Hey Tasky through X's own sign-in. Grok only gets access to your Hey Tasky workspace.

Can I use Hey Tasky with Grok Build in the terminal?

Yes. Run grok mcp add --transport http heytasky https://mcp.heytasky.com/mcp and Grok Build opens the Hey Tasky sign-in the first time it uses the server.

Does the xAI API work with Hey Tasky?

Yes, as a remote MCP tool. Add {"type": "mcp", "server_url": "https://mcp.heytasky.com/mcp", "server_label": "heytasky"} to the tools in your Responses API request and send a Hey Tasky API key in an Authorization header.
